Debate Response – Uh-Oh!

September 7, 2011

What can you say about a debate when the only ones who performed well are unelectable (which is not to say all unelectable candidates did well).

Who won?  I’d have to say Cain and Huntsman.  Let’s look at the candidates:

Rick Santorum:  Grow up.  Not in maturity, per se, but in age.  He just doesn’t cut it for me.

Michelle Bachmann:  Ho-hum.  She’s done.  Let’s move on.

Newt Gingrich:  The PitBull strikes again.  Strange how the one who has demonstrated the least personal integrity demands the most integrity.  Smart, smart, smart.  Unelectable.

Mitt Romney:  Not a good showing.  The seams are wearing thin.  The Front Runner may still be the Front Runner, but not from anything he’s done.

Rick Perry: The Challenger fell flat.  On the defensive all night, embarrassingly long pauses.  Frankly, I expected more.  I was pegging him for the nomination, but maybe not.  Has to bring the next debates way up or he’s lost.

Ron Paul:  My favorite, bombed badly.  His worst showing by far.  Unelectable and now really unelectable.

Herman Cain: Dude did well!  Cut to the chase, great presentation.  Unelectable, but may be tonight’s winner without even having much time to talk.

John Huntsman: Surprisingly good!  The deep tan hurt him, as did his faith in science, but he did pretty well.  The grownup in the crowd.

Future debates just became more important.  I no longer have a favored winner.  I am thinking Cain would be a good Vice-President.

Your thoughts?

It’s kind of like choosing wallpaper for me – if I have too many choices I decide to paint instead.
