More on the FairTax

April 1, 2010

I don’t get it.  “Opponents of the FairTax say the poor will carry the burden of taxation.”

As I research the embedded tax as part of the my business, the double and triple taxing of anyone with a job is mindboggling.  You’re paying taxes you know nothing about.

The FairTax brings transparency to taxation.  EVERYONE receives a rebate check that allows tax free purchase of necessities.  The poor will not pay employment tax, income tax, nor sales tax on their basic needs.  Where’s the burden?

Wealthy people spend more than poor.  Yes, they save more potentially, and the FairTax will encourage savings for everyone, not to mention environmental prompts to buy used.  The poor (and everyone else) gets their entire check unplundered by the government.

For the life of me, I don’t see how the poor are burdened.  They make out like bandits.
